Data can be imported from tabular data of hierarchy, prepared/maintained in an Excel sheet. To import from Visio, first export to Excel from Visio, and then import the xlsx file in OrgDoc.

1. Select Import from Data menu.

2. Select an xls/xlsx file that has data in the following format:

NOTES:

• The title of columns are not relevant, and so the data content also need not be employee data.
• The last column Section is optional, which is used for tagging (classification)
• More lines of data (if any) can be included in Department column, separated by a \n.
• Use Excel import only for the initial phase of chart creation, since it has only data, and has no formatting, photo etc.
• To update/maintain data, use Bulk Editor, which provide a spreadsheet functionality.
• To update/maintain data/hierarchy, use Tree Editor, which provide node-editing and drag & drop.
• You can drag & drop within the chart too, in Drag & Drop mode.
• You can also export the updated chart data to Excel file.
